Caught Michael Franti and Spearhead at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA last weekend... off the hook fun!!!

You got that right!!!
Just got home from AC NJ after the DMB 3 day fest. Awesome time capped off Sun by the final 3 acts being
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Michael Franti and Spearhead
and DMB. I'm not a HUGE DMB fan but, MAN did they bring it!!
3 nights in a row, 3 completely different sets, incredible musicianship.+

Franti had this hurtin old fart jumpin up and down with a HUGE smile on my face for his whole set. He even stayed after his set for about an hour just hangin with the fans ,shakin hands and sayin hi!

My first time seeing GP and theNocs live.
WONT BE MY LAST!!
My 2 sons are at the Franti/Potter show right now in DanburyCT.
My brother had to take them cuz dad needs his "Rest After the Fest"!

TED NUGENT: up close and personal.  WHAT A NIGHT!!

***********************************************

HOLEE CRAPATOLA!! What a friggin’ AWESOME warm up to the fest last night.  Ended up at Casino Rama north of Toronto for the Ted Nugent show.  A buddy scored some last minute FREE comps – 13th row center. (they even threw us a suite in the hotel if we decided to crash).  As if that wasn’t fantastic enough, when we wheeled down to the access gate the security dude looks at us and says, “You boys wanna go down front?” and we’re like “Are you fucking KIDDING?!!”.

Boom!  FRONT AND CENTER BAYBEE, right on the freakin’ rail.  I was 12’ from Uncle Teddy basking in all his sweat and rock’n’roll glory.  I’ve RAVED about his KILLER rhythm section – downtown "Thunder Balls" Mick Brown and Greggy Smith, for eons.  HOLEE SHEE-ITE did they DELIVER!!  They DID NOT disappoint.  Probably one of the TIGHTEST groove factor five rhythm sections out on the road right now.  Just fucking INCREDIBLE!!  The heavy grooves were freakin’ INFECTIOUS!!

As if all that wasn’t awesome enough, we got treated to Derek St. Holmes SMOKIN’ vocals and guitar work.  And it goes without saying that Uncle Teddy DELIVERED IN SPADES as always.  I don’t know how he does it at 63 years of age.  Incredible.  GREAT GREAT show!!  Greg even tossed a mitt full of guitar picks at us.  One hit me in the melon!  Grin

We hit the casino bar afterwards, and lo and behold who do you think walks in?  Mick and Greg!  SO cool to hang with them for a bit and do a lil’ meet and greet.  VERY NICE COOL UBER TALENTED guys!!

What a warm up to the fest!!  Bring it awwwn!!

Great review Dirtbag. I saw Uncle Ted last night w/ Austin for FREE at Artpark in Lewiston, NY. Great great show, having Derek St. Holmes there was friggin' cool as all get out. Ted is a maniac guitar player and his rants are hilarious. Austin loved it and hope we get years of Uncle Ted to come.

To answer your question on how he does it, well HE has been sober since day 1, and of course he eats venison!! LOL Healthy mofo he is.

No joke here, she has a sold-out show in Burlington for flood relief on 10/09
Phish raised 1.2 million with their show on 09/14, and
Trey Anastasio is doing another flood relief show tonight in Burlington. Sold-out too.
Great upstanding Vermonters .. and the crowd goes wild!!

This past weekend my wonderful parents drove a total of over 1,000 miles so that I could see Corey Taylor solo acoustic. For those of you who don't know, Corey Taylor is the lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour. He recently wrote a book called Seven Deadly Sins which is on the New York Times best seller list and is my all time favorite book. His set included a Q & A, a reading from his book, and then an acoustic set of originals and covers. Here's something I think everyone will appreciate:
