Them TAILDRAGGER boys are purdy funny!  Love their gig posters.

Would love to make this gig too but it just ain't in the cards.  Hopefully, they'll keep playing some more shows into the spring and summer months.

Lauri and I saw Grace potter and the nocturnals open for local charlotte boys, the Avett brothers on april 9th.. Very impressed by grace and her band. liked it alot. Girl got pipes and nice legs. Avett brothers are 3 brothers who were born and raised in the charlotte area, concord nc to be specific. bluegrass genre. very good. these boys have harmonies that will make your skin peel. over all a very good time. see you all in august.

Went in to a local coffee shop in town and among all the flyers for local high school musicals and carwashes I spied a small promo poster for Deep Purple playing at the Bushnell in Hartford with members of the Hartford Symphony! This coming Wednesday!
The Bushnell is a  spectacular theater that usually hosts only Classical, opera and Broadway shows, though I have seen a couple of rock shows there through the years( Most memorably David Gilmour on his first solo tour and Black Sabbath with Dio on the Dehumanizer tour)
I was surprised I hadnt heard ANYTHING about this!Being a HUGE Purple/Rainbow/Blackmore/Steve Morse fan, I ran home and got online to check out ticket info to find...
   $250 for the CHEAP SEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  REALLY?!?!
Bummer Sad
Other than that the summer concerts are starting to shape up.
So far on my list:
Black Country Communion in NH

Dave Mathews Caravan in AC NJ- featuring Michael Franti,Grace  Potter,Warren Haynes,Flaming Lips and a whole bunch more

And of course WHEELIEFEST13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also waiting for on-sale ticket info for Incubus in Sept!

I hear ya. I was psyched when I learned that ZZ Top was playing the Tennessee Theatre, here at home. After all the fees were added to the original ticket price, it added up to $86.75 per ticket. No opening band. Ridiculous. Hell, when I saw Buddy Guy at that same venue, it was only $46.35 and he's got 20 more years of legendary status to boot. On top of that, his tour shirts were made right here in the USA. Ya probably can't say that about the shirt you're wearing on your back right now! Guess we'll have to pass those outrageous priced shows for the blue collars to enjoy.

A Celebration of King Crimson Music and Much More...
remember when I mentioned something special
was being planned for our next tour?
well, here it is:

the Two Of A Perfect Trio tour.
the show will go like this:

stickmen (tony levin, markus rueter, and pat mastelotto)
will play a set of their music
then
the adrian belew power trio (me, julie slick, and tobias ralph)
will play a set of my music
then
tony, pat, and I will play a few crimson songs as a trio
then
both trios will take the stage for a glorious set of
king crimson music including pieces from the double trio era.
two drummers, two stick players, a bassist, and a guitarist, YOW!
what a sound that's gonna be.
the dates should be listed here soon.

2011 marks my (and tony's) 30-year anniversary
of being in king crimson, something I'm very proud of.
this once in a lifetime show is a perfect way to celebrate.

DON'T MISS THIS!
